WELCOME TO EVANS ELEMENTARY 4TH GRADE ENERGY BLOG! THIS BLOG WILL HELP GUIDE US AS WE EXPLORE THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ENERGY INCLUDING TYPES OF ENERGY, WAYS TO SAVE ENERGY, AND HOW IT AFFECTS OUR ENVIRONMENT.
One fact is thst nuclear energy is a type of potential energy. Another fact is that nuclear energy is energy stored in the nucleus of an atom- the energy that holds the necleus together. The last fact is that nuclear power plants split the nuclei of uranium atoms in a process called fission.
Nuclear energy would be the power of the future if only nuclear fission, which causes nuclear energy, didn't produce nuclear waste, radioactive material.

ReplyDeleteDon't the nucleas have kinetic energy when it hits the other atoms and the atoms explode?
DeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't include how the strong force weakens and the protons repel each other. That causes fission. Otherwise, good job!
